The charities aim is to support sick and disabled children. It runs in three parts. Coach travel in the UK and a Disney trip to France.
- The Fun Club which is based in West Yorkshire and is open to any child with a disability living locally. A nominal fee is payable annually.
- Coach Travel within the UK. Where demand exceeds places, trustees will prioritise children with more complex disabilities where travel is more difficult for them. Applications are screened wherever possible by a trustee who does not know the families to ensure fair practice. The Trustees decision is final.
- Wish trip to Disney. This is always oversubscribed, again, as before applications will pass through more than one Trustee who rank them in order of suitability. More complex children will be prioritised and not all applicants will get a place. Trustees’ decision is final.
- Disney is a significant financial outlay to the charity. To ensure as many families as possible can benefit, if more than one hotel room is required, families will be asked to pay the additional costs incurred. Where the application is for a child from a multiple birth the Trustees will consider funding some additional costs on an individual basis.
- Eligibility criteria for residential trips (including Disneyland Paris). As described above we aim to help those with more complex disabilities access fun things more easily with their families. We are limited by finances and as a small charity will not usually be able to offer activities to those with a singular diagnosis such as Autism or ADHD unless accompanied by complex medical needs.
COVID – due to the vulnerability of many of our applicants, a Covid Passport will be required in all those eligible attending any charity activity. This will remain under constant review.
