Disneyland
Our Disneyland holiday is the highlight of our year. We make the dream holiday possible for many children for whom a trip to Disneyland is just a dream. These children not eligible for wishes from the major wish charities as they have a disability, yet this disability is lifelong and sets them apart from their non-disabled peers.
This unique holiday is designed to support families, taking away the usual stresses and worries of travelling abroad with a disabled child whilst allowing for quality time to enjoy precious moments as a family knowing that they is someone there to help if needed. There is the companionship or other families in the group in similar circumstances, families build friendships which last a lifetime.
There are many benefits of being part of our FTW group for such a major trip. For many families the idea of travelling with a disabled child is often daunting, especially to another country. The benefits of travelling with FTW are many. We take the pressure of organising accessible travel away. We offer practical support plus the opportunity to meet new families make friends in a non-judgemental environment. The support from our small volunteer team means that there is always help on hand if needed , or simply friends to have a chat with at the end of a very exciting day.
From a Parent
We’ve never been a family who’s gone on organised excursions. Having a child with complex needs and severe disabilities has meant that in the past we micro organised everything to the last possible detail so, to hand over that worry and stress to somebody else at first terrified us and, I admit to finding it stressful at first having someone else doing the organising!
I shouldn’t have worried though, Mary and the team at FTW are amazing, fantastic and experts in what they do. It was also so refreshing to be around other families in similar situations. No judgement, no strange looks, just lots of fun and laughter and help, if it was needed.
We spent the most exhausting, exhilarating, and amazing days at Disneyland Paris with the Fulfil the wish and memories were made that will last forever. I wish we could do it all again, every year. From mum Michelle FTW Disney 2022
Who can apply
A parent can apply on behalf of their disabled child. We do not take referrals from health professionals, friends or relatives.
Who is eligible to apply
Any child with a disability, aged between 5 and 17, with a lifelong complex disability that has not had a holiday wish granted by any other charity, and not been to Disneyland Paris before is eligible to apply.
Who is not eligible to apply
A child or young person living in full time residential care, or suffering from life-threatening conditions that require medical or nursing support whilst away are not eligible.
Children who have been granted a wish through any other wish charity are also not eligible.
A child with Autism or ADHD with no additional complex medical needs will also be ineligible to apply.
