Fun Club

Since its launch, our Fun Club has organised great activities for our member families over weekends and school holidays. The Fun Club was designed to give families the opportunity to participate in regular, fun family activities and be part of the Fulfil the Wish community.

The Fun Club is open to any child with a disability up to 17 years of age and includes their siblings up to the age of 15. It offers the opportunity for families to come together in a fun, friendly party environment and try new activities and adventures in an inclusive and holistic environment, where all activities are accessible for all children including those children who have physical disabilities.

Fulfil the Wish understands that, in order to help the child with disabilities, one of the best forms of support is to provide experiences and opportunities for the whole family within a wider community of other families in similar positions to themselves.

The club tries to organise a party every 5-6 weeks, mainly on weekends, and uses a variety of venues, mostly within the West Yorkshire area.

The events organised vary as much as possible. Alongside traditional fun activities, such as bowling, swimming and ice skating, there is also opportunity to try more unique and exciting experiences. We regularly go snow tubing at the Halifax Ski and Snowboard Centre, visit the interactive Ponderosa Therapy Centre and visit Jumping Clay arts and crafts centre in Elland. This list is far from exhaustive and we are always looking to organise new and exciting events.

Events in the pipeline for this year include:

  • Afternoon at Jumping Clay arts and crafts centre, Elland (date TBC)
  • Family ‘Fun in the Sun’ day, Old Brodleians RUFC, Sunday 23 July
  • Emmerdale studio tour (date TBC)
  • Snow tubing, Halifax Ski and Snowboard Centre, Saturday 5th August, 6pm

All activities are booked and organised by Fulfil the Wish and every care is made to ensure that they are accessible to all children.
