For many, this is the highlight of our annual calendar: an unforgettable experience for everyone. Guests have the security of meticulously organised travel, and able support during the travel. Guests have the freedom to explore the theme parks at their leisure and enjoy the magic that is Disney. Should support be required on site, then it is readily available.
We organise short, weekend breaks to various tourist locations in the UK, which in the past has included London, Legoland Windsor and Blackpool, with visits to popular attractions added on top, such as Windsor Castle, Longleat Safari Park and a tour of Wembley Stadium.
We stay in hotels that provide excellent service and facilities for disabled guests.
We work with The Bendrigg Trust
Bendrigg is an outward bound centre in Cumbria, designed specifically for the disabled. Everyone gets a chance to try the zip wire, climbing wall, abseiling, canoeing and much more – even the mums and dads who are brave enough can have a go! We have organised trips to Bendrigg for numerous years, and we have received glowing feedback every time.
In early 2014, thanks to a generous donation from the Leo Group, we were able to set up our Fun Club. Through this, we organise day events for our members. This is an opportunity for families to come together in social, party-type events, which are usually arranged every six to eight weeks. So far, this has included private use of soft play gyms, visits to Cannon Hall farm in Barnsley and private use of Brighouse Swimming Pool, as well as snow tubing at Halifax Ski and Snowboard Centre, which is our most popular activity so far.
Our Fun Club is open to any disabled child and their siblings and parents and there is a yearly membership fee of £5 per family. To find out more about our Fun Club, and for details on how to join in, please click here.
The charity runs these to a variety of places: Blackpool, The Lake District and Chester Zoo are among the favourites. We have also organised group visits to shows such as Disney on Ice at arenas across the North of England which always prove popular.
We love to meet all our friends, past and present, at social get-togethers, and we also organise fun and fitness days, which are held at sports centres. There are opportunities for guests to try new activities such as trampolining, bowling, wheelchair football and basketball and other sports designed around the abilities of those attending. All activities are supervised and supported by qualified instructors.
